Professional Property Maintenance was established in May of 2002, by Patrick Cranson and Peter Dunn. Both born and raised on Aquidneck Island, Patrick is a graduate of Salve Regina University and Peter of St. Lawrence University.  The roots of PPM began back in their college days when they would team up during the summer breaks mowing lawns, mulching properties and taking on small construction projects.

A few of years after graduation they decided to give it another go, but on a year-round basis.  Utilizing their local connections and relationships they quickly developed more work than the two could handle and needed to hire additional workers.  The cornerstone idea the business was built upon was to develop long term relationships with clients and fellow contractors, based on mutual respect and a commitment to excellence.  This proved to be a successful approach, fast forward 18 years and they now employ 12-15 people and serve over 100 clients on a regular basis.

Another key element for PPM was to join local groups for networking and educational resources.  PPM has been a member of RINLA (Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association) and the Newport County Chamber of Commerce for many years.  Patrick and Peter are also certified Invasive Plant Managers by the University of Rhode Island which allows them to work in the coastal buffer zones throughout Rhode Island.  Other national affiliations and qualifications they and their employees have are: Certified Installers for ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) for installing pavers and retaining walls, Certified ASCA (Accredited Snow Contractors Association) for snow and ice management, and Aquascape contractor for Koi pond installations.  Lastly, Rhode Island Hoisting Engineers License for the operation of Backhoes and all excavation equipment.
